The Results of the Referendum

The Referendum showed a majority in favour of Option B  - Parish Constables will continue to be members of the States. There will be 42 members: 30 Deputies and 12 Parish Constables. There will be 6 large districts, each choosing 5 Deputies.

 

The first round of voting did not produce a clear winner, so the second preference votes were then counted.The results, after the second preference were -

Option A - 6,707 (45.02% of the vote)

Option B - 8,190 (54.98% of the vote)
