The Jersey Electoral Authority was established in response to recommendations contained within the CPA Electoral Observer’s Mission Report published after the last elections in 2018. Whilst those currently responsible for the elections in Jersey; namely the Parishes, Judicial Greffe and States Greffe, work well together, the creation of the JEA provides a politically neutral and independent arbiter to determine candidate disputes, complaints, address conduct issues amongst candidates and also oversee the review of election expenditure by candidates.
