Are You Thinking Of Standing For Election in May 2018?
On Saturday 3 March, 2018 between 10am and 1pm, an event is being held exclusively for prospective election candidates (and existing States Members too) so that they are better informed about the issues facing our Island’s industries.
It will be a chance for prospective candidates to talk directly to representatives from the Island’s industries and hear about their main areas of concern and share ideas about strengthening the economy. It will also be an opportunity to talk with officers from the States Greffe about the campaign process and find out about the support available to new members after the election.
This is an informal ‘drop-in’ event in the States Building, commencing with a welcome address from the Bailiff at 10am in the States Chamber.
The industry bodies attending so far include:
You can attend this event if you have not yet formally declared your intention to stand for election. The objective is to provide you with information on the issues that face local industry and to be better informed to answer questions at the hustings and deal with such matters if elected.
Anyone interested is invited to come along to the States Members’ entrance of the States building (opposite the statue). Doors will open from 9.45am.
