Now that the 2014 elections are over, what happens next?
The 49 members of the new Assembly were sworn in at 9.30 a.m. on Monday 3rd November 2014. The swearing in was followed by a Service of Dedication in the Town Church. The Assembly then met in the States Chamber and appointed Senator Ian Gorst as Chief Minister designate.

The Assembly met again on Thursday 6th November to appoint Ministers and the Chairmen of committees and panels. The new Council of Ministers took office the moment that the States appointed the 10th Minister in the selection process.
After the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers were appointed, the States appointed the Chairmen of Scrutiny Panels, the Public Accounts Committee and the Privileges and Procedures Committee.

The first meeting of the States Assembly to debate public business was held on 25th November 2014.
