The JEA wishes to remind those responsible for the social media accounts of official bodies that it is vital that they remain politically neutral throughout the election process. This includes communications from Parishes.
It is also important that any candidate events which are arranged, whether they are described as hustings or otherwise, should be discussed with all of the candidates concerned in the first instance; all candidates relevant should be invited to attend, be given sufficient notice of the planned event and there should be no adverse inference implied should candidates not be able to attend due to other commitments.
