Dear Parishioner, It has been an honour to serve the Parish of St Clément as Connétable for the past six years and I seek your support to continue in this role for another term.

I hope that I have proved to be the candidate truly committed to St Clement serving or having served as:-

  • ROADS INSPECTOR
  • DEPUTY OF THE PARISH
  • TREASURER AND PRESIDENT OF THE CLÉMENT BATTLE OF FLOWERS ASSOCIATION
  • PATRON OF ST CLÉMENT SPORTS CLUB
  • CHAIRMAN OF THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE OF LE SQUEZ YOUTH CLUB.
  • In addition I am CHAIRMAN OF THE JERSEY FRIENDS OF THE ANTHONY NOLAN BONE MARROW TRUST

As your Constable
I have continued to oppose inappropriate, large scale development in our Parish. This is an issue I feel very strongly about and have campaigned vigorously, and with some success, to maintain the rural aspect and culture of St Clement;

Brought to fruition the Parish Retirement Homes project with over 50 apartments and cottages due for completion next year: Improved road safety with a reduction in the speed limit throughout most of the Parish:

Attracted new recruits to the Honorary Police by direct contact with potential officers and encouraging employers, both private and public sector, to co-operate with and support the Honorary System:

Improved communications with Parishioners by introducing regular news by email and supported the highly valued Parish magazine:

With others, developed the Community Support Team which does so much to assist the more vulnerable members of our community:

Ensured that the Parish Hall is the centre of our parochial social and cultural life, including the provision of the most southerly Pétanque terrain the British Isles:

Kept any increase in the Parish Rate below inflation:

Assisted the Parish in Bloom team to continue to make environmental improvements throughout the Parish.

If re-elected I will Continue to be available to all Parishioners at all reasonable times:

Continue to provide strong and vibrant representation in the States in the interests of St Clément parishioners:

Maintain the campaign for a general election with all States Members being elected on the same day and for the same term.

Work with the Procurers du Bien Public to maintain the Parish Rate as low as possible without curtailing the services Parishioners have a right to expect.

Work with and support all organisations that are based in St Clément to be a truly inclusive Parish.

These are just some of the issues I have addressed and wish to address. Please contact me if there is any matter which you might wish to discuss, or if you would like a lift to the Parish Hall on polling day.

Thank you for reading this letter and I hope that I might have your support on October 15th.

Len Norman
