I am a 40-year-old Jerseyman and father of two who lives in the district. Our family home has been in St Saviour No 1 for over five decades. I would be honoured to be your parish Deputy and work hard from day one.

I will listen to you and be YOUR voice.

Professional: I have worked in the charitable sector for Headway Jersey and the Jersey Brain Tumour Charity. My CV is available on my website.

St Saviour No 1: To the electors, I will pledge to make myself available and accessible.

Heavy traffic is a scourge of the district and I will strongly support all efforts already underway to reduce the traffic problems. I will work hard to bring the parish closer together, supporting the Constable and other Deputies to speak with one voice when required.

Economy: Jersey faces difficult economic challenges, which affect every single one of us. There has been questionable management of our economy in recent years, we now need transparency and honesty.

We must be brave and involve the right people to create innovative solutions. We need new jobs for the new world.

We require a wholesale review of 0-10 and should be talking now to corporations about rebalancing taxation to reduce the burden on individuals.

Immigration: Due to pressure on resources, Jersey requires a balanced immigration policy. We need people who will make a positive contribution, but we have to be realistic on numbers. Recent governments have failed spectacularly in tackling this issue.

Health: We MUST urgently review healthcare and the plans for the new hospital. We have a rapidly ageing population and face a time bomb meeting health and long-term care demands.

I have seen the major gaps in the referral system between primary and charitable health care providers. It is unacceptable that islanders are not consistently told about support available from the third sector.

From experiences gained by caring for my late grandmother, I believe we need to invest in the provision of 24-hour care for the elderly. Over the next decade we face a crisis dealing with dementia, which is predicted to be the 21st Century’s biggest killer. We need to refocus on the mental health front, not enough is being done to coordinate third sector provision to primary care.

I will fight for people with mental health issues to be respected and supported.

Education
Jersey needs new young, intelligent blood to create the wealth and innovation required in the future economy. We need to continue to invest in our education system, and it is also vital to support Highlands College to allow students to develop the skills the economy requires.

In summary
I believe I have the passion and commitment required on your behalf to tackle the issues ahead. The island’s people are its greatest asset, and I will work hard to support your family and mine.
