Serving you as Deputy for St Helier Central for a second term has been an honour and I am standing for re-election to continue my work to make our systems fairer, more transparent, and supportive of everyone in our community.

Since being elected in 2018, my focus has been on ensuring government decisions genuinely improve people’s everyday lives, so every islander feels seen, heard, and empowered.

Achievements

Over the past term, I worked to deliver practical improvements that directly support islanders:

  • Secured free GP visits for under 18s and full-time students
  • Extended the young person’s bus pass to students and apprentices
  • Simplified the Control of Housing and Work Law and published policy online
  • Introduced Whistleblowing Legislation, strengthening employee protections
  • Supported local businesses by relaxing controls for key roles
  • Established the International Cultural Centre, offering free, confidential support for those living in Jersey

My Priorities

-Protecting Workers-

Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported at work. Introducing whistleblowing legislation was an important step. I will champion stronger protections and ensure both employees and employers have the clarity and support they need.

-Supporting Local Businesses-

Local businesses are the backbone of our economy. Simplifying processes, reducing unnecessary barriers, and improving flexibility, will help them thrive. I remain committed to pushing practical reforms that make it easier to start, grow, and sustain a business in Jersey.

-Health, Wellbeing & Community

Good health is about more than medical care; it is shaped by housing, employment, education, and community support. I will advocate for a joined-up approach that enables people to access affordable quality help and care when they need it.

-Spending & Efficiencies

Responsibly spending public money – focusing on genuine need, addressing long-term underinvestment in services and infrastructure, while also raising revenue through progressive and sustainable decision making – is essential. Significant time and resources are lost through duplication across government and other sectors. Improving dialogue and integrating digital systems more effectively across these areas would reduce waste and deliver meaningful efficiencies.

-Transparency & Civic Engagement

Too many people feel disconnected from government or unsure of their rights. From working closely with constituents to founding and chairing the Political Awareness and Education Committee, I have seen how powerful it is when people understand how their democracy works and feel confident taking part. Ensuring information is accessible, communication is clear, and decision-making is transparent, is vital.

Looking Ahead

I am committed to building a community that doesn’t just get by, but truly thrives, where opportunity is shared, voices are heard, and support is there when needed.

I value the trust you have given me, and I hope to continue working for you.
