I was born in Jersey to Portuguese parents and attended Rouge Bouillon, Haute Vallée and Hautlieu Schools before studying at the University of Oxford.

This journey is unusual in our Island, but it shouldn’t be: more people in Jersey should be able to achieve their potential and live a decent life.

I have spent 13 years working in the charity, higher education and public sectors, including seven years in the UK. I grew up in town and have lived in St Helier South since returning to Jersey in 2019, and at Havre des Pas since 2021, where I am regular user of the Lido. Through my paid work with Government (and my voluntary work with young women) I’ve seen first-hand that Jersey is becoming increasingly unequal.

I am standing for election with Reform Jersey so we can work together to make it possible for people to aspire, achieve, and live comfortably.

This isn’t just a question of fairness: it’s a question of economic necessity. By 2040, only 40% of Jersey’s population will be of working age. We will need to care for an aging population, make Jersey a viable place for more families, and build a diverse economy to support us all.

If you elect me, I pledge to:

Advocate for investment in St Helier. Town is home to a third of our population and needs focus and investment. I will support the building of the Gas Place school and the Rouge Bouillon replacement. I will ensure that the Havre des Pas Shoreline Management Plan includes the amenity space that is so urgently needed in the area.

Be honest and decisive in tackling the cost of living. Making broad promises about reducing the cost of living is unrealistic and will only lead to more distrust in our elected officials. I will be honest about the levers Jersey has to address the cost of living – tax, housing, childcare costs – and use them in a sustainable, effective way.

Focus on policies that create opportunities for everyone. There are huge inequalities in Jersey, and we must address them if we’re going to meet the challenges of the future. I will campaign for better access to affordable high-quality childcare and lifelong learning. I will also support the passage of a Hate Crime Law to protect our communities.

In the last two years, Reform Jersey has reduced GP fees, introduced free childcare for 2- to 3-year-olds, and helped protect tenants. If elected, I will build on this legacy. I will ask the difficult questions, seek out your views, and act on behalf of our community.
