My priority is a fairer, more sustainable and resilient Jersey.

An Independent Deputy for St John, St Lawrence and Trinity since 2022 seeking re-election.

I grew up in Jersey and, after an international career, returned to raise my family here. Before entering Jersey politics, I worked with international organisations, including the United Nations, World Bank and European Union, shaping policy and budgets to reduce inequality, protect the environment and support sustainable development.

In the States Assembly, I have served as Assistant Minister and Scrutiny Chair, focused on delivery, accountability and value for money. I am active in parish life and chair JAYF – Jersey’s youth homelessness charity.

DELIVERING ACROSS THE PARISHES I have worked closely with residents and businesses to help secure grants; navigate planning processes, roadwork disruptions and safety concerns; and resolve healthcare and social security challenges.

HOLDING GOVERNMENT TO ACCOUNT As Chair of the Environment, Housing & Infrastructure Panel, I led budget scrutiny, secured amendments improving value for money and pushed for stronger recognition of climate risk in long-term planning. I challenged the tenancy law reforms by identifying risks and securing improvements. I scrutinised the Bridging Island Plan, infrastructure works, housing affordability and waste policy. I advanced marine protection and biodiversity.

SHAPING GOVERNMENT POLICY As Assistant Minister for Environment and for Justice & Home Affairs I chaired the Energy Policy Roundtable and Energy Suppliers Group, implemented climate grants for energy efficiency and sustainable transport, and introduced a Gender Impact Assessment Toolkit.

I WILL SUPPORT:

  1. A RESILIENT ECONOMY • Responsible public finances, keeping the cost of Government in line with what the Jersey economy can afford. • Backing small local businesses and innovation. • Strengthening post-16 education with skills, apprenticeships, and employment pathways for young Islanders. • A Sustainable Finance Jurisdiction. • An Energy strategy to ensure secure, affordable energy for islanders.
  2. A SUSTAINABLE JERSEY • Delivering the next Island Plan with affordable housing, reuse of empty homes, protection of green spaces, and better public and active transport. • Protecting our countryside, coastline, heritage, and biodiversity by supporting the stewards of those areas. • Supporting local food production and regenerative farming.
  3. A FAIRER JERSEY • Sustainable healthcare financing, to ensure services stay accessible. • Improving early intervention across health and social care. • Stronger support for carers and affordable childcare. • Increased safety and online protections for young people. • Greater collaboration between Government, Parishes, charities and business to better support vulnerable Islanders.

MY COMMITMENT

Jersey faces real challenges: public finances, the economy, housing, ageing population, public services and the environment. I will continue to focus on practical delivery, evidence-based decision-making and collaboration to deliver real results, so islanders can afford to live, work and raise families in Jersey.

Please give me one of your three votes.
