It is an honour to have represented St. Martin as Connétable for the past eight years. I am seeking a third term to complete projects within both the Parish and Islandwide.

Your Parish

St. Martin is thriving, with a strong community spirit and a real pride in our environment and public amenities. I was delighted to be instrumental in delivering the new, inclusive playground on the Village Green, built without any Parish funding. It is heartening that our design process became a catalyst and template for the rest of the Island.

Securing the States loan for the refurbishment of La Vielle École was one of my first tasks in the Assembly. Through successful negotiation, the Proposition for a States loan was agreed which enabled the project to proceed.  It has been a resounding success; delivering a supermarket, a Vets, and a GP Surgery and Pharmacy, all in the very heart of our Parish. The Parish Depot, the Public Hall, the Rectory and the Village Tea Room, sheltered housing and other parish properties, have undergone repairs to ensure our buildings remain well-maintained.

Fundraising has begun for the renovation and conversion of the Parish Barn into a wonderful new community centre. As with the playground, I want the cost to be covered by donations so that parishioners can benefit without impacting their rates.

Kerbside recycling has been introduced, and as Chair of St. Martin’s Housing Association I will continue to explore viable proposals for affordable homes and right-sizing. I am proud to support the Honorary Police, Maufant Youth Project, and the Gorey Fete & Bonfire Committee. All are important parts of Parish life.

Island Wide

Without a seat in the States Assembly, the Connétables would not be able to succeed. I will continue to represent you in the States Chamber to deliver for both Parish and Island.

I served as Chair of the Privileges and Procedures Committee for three years, introducing a range of reforms to improve the administration of our democracy. As a member of the Health and Social Security Panel, I have held Ministers to account and will continue to push for accountability and transparency in the next Assembly.

If elected, I will make sure the recommendations from the Violence Against Women Taskforce continue to be delivered. I will work with all members to combat the rising cost of living and help deliver the Government’s Road Safety Strategy that I originally initiated through a Proposition. I remain a committed advocate for Jersey’s agriculture, its natural environment, and access to Arts, Heritage and Culture.

I will continue to work for the good of St. Martin and Jersey.

Thank you.
