Parishioners,

Nearly five years ago you placed your trust in me, and it has been an honour and a privilege to serve you as Constable. I am therefore seeking your support for another term, continuing to focus on people, not politics.

For those of you who are new to the Parish, I am Jersey born and have lived and worked in the Parish for over 25 years. I strongly believe in Jersey’s traditions and the Honorary System. I am happily married to Diana and have two grown up daughters, Ebony and Jessica, and dog Vinnie.

Why do I want to serve as your Constable for another four years. Well, whilst we have achieved a lot there is a lot more to do.

What we have achieved so far.

Together, we have delivered meaningful support to parishioners, particularly during challenging times following COVID.

Achievements to date;

  • Allotments for residents and families without outdoor space
  • Provided greater financial assistance to our parishioners, including help with health-related needs and much more.
  • With the Tara Centre, we created a discreet mental health support service at the Parish Hall, reducing long wait times for assessments.
  • A Parish market, raising over £10,000 this year for mostly Parish Charities.
  • Creation of the St Clement Community Hub at Clos Mourant who host regular activities and presentations.
  • A strong parish response to Storm Ciaran. This was an exceptional challenge where the Parish Staff & Honorary Police were magnificent in responding in unprecedented circumstances to support the many affected residents.
  • Solar panels and a greener heating system this will have a long-term financial saving going forward.

Further successes you may not have noticed.

  • New bus shelter & Dingy Rack at Le Hocq.
  • Speed limits reduced across many roads.
  • Flood prevention works completed at Rue de Presbytere
  • Greater involvement with all parish volunteer groups.
  • A full complement of Honorary Police Officers.

       So, what’s next

  • With Parish approval we seek to sell St. Christophers’ school and use the money for a Parish project which will provide a benefit to all.
  • We have a green light to take over a portion of land from Le Rocquier School and are awaiting legal documents before proceeding.
  • Le Squez Youth Club re-development has been moved up the agenda, and we will pursue the promise that this work will commence after the new Youth Club facilities in St. Helier have been completed.
  • Potential development of the Rectory in a few years’ time, big space low yield?

There is still much to do, and I remain committed to serving the parish with integrity, transparency and dedication.
