St Helier deserves a Constable who is present, principled, and committed to every part of our community. Over the past two terms, I have served as a Deputy for St Helier and, in this term, as Minister for Education. Throughout, I have worked tirelessly to deliver meaningful improvements for parishioners.
I am standing for Constable because I believe our parish needs strong, visible leadership rooted in fairness, community, and practical action.
I have consistently delivered for St Helier. I brought forward successful propositions to introduce a young person’s bus pass to support families, increased the pensioners Christmas bonus and won funding for valued organisations such as Beresford Street Kitchen, ensuring that vital services remain supported.
One of my most significant achievements has been winning the proposition for a youth centre in central St Helier, protecting the Gas Place site from overdevelopment and prioritising it for a much-needed community accessible school and new parks. This will ensure St Helier has the educational and community infrastructure required for the future and maximises green space.
I supported increases to the minimum wage and residential tenancy legislation to protect tenants and landlords. As a non-government member, I asked more questions than any other member, consistently holding the government to account, because St Helier deserves a representative who never stops working.
As Minister for Education, I have driven a progressive agenda focused on fairness, inclusion, and opportunity. I supported major structural reform that will direct more investment into our schools, teachers, and young people and I immediately ended teachers’ strikes. I also introduced school meals and free childcare.
This experience has deepened my understanding of the challenges facing families in St Helier and strengthened my determination to deliver practical, community-focused solutions as Constable.
As a member of the Jersey Police Authority, I have insight into the challenges faced in policing our streets and the essential role the honorary police play for St Helier.
Accessibility to parishioners is vital. Since being elected I have consistently held regular drop-ins across my constituency, been easily contactable and actively supported residents with a wide range of issues. I also campaigned for better facilities for elected members so that we can provide the high-quality casework parishioners deserve.
As Constable, I will continue to be approachable, available, and an advocate for every part of our parish. St Helier is vibrant and growing. With strong leadership and a clear vision, we can ensure development is balanced, our streets remain safe and welcoming, and our parish continues to thrive.
I am asking for your support so that, together, we can live in a St Helier that is the jewel of Jersey.
