Dear Voter,

I am standing as a candidate for Senator to help deliver a government that will serve every part of our community and make Jersey the place of hope and opportunity that it is capable of being.

Jersey is a place with so much potential that the government should be working to unlock, so Islanders and businesses can thrive. Whilst much has been achieved in the last two years, there is still much to do to reverse the trend of decline set in place by previous governments.

Where I am different to other Senatorial candidates is that I am running with a slate of candidates with a clear manifesto and positive track record. By doing politics differently, we are more effective.

If elected, I will play whatever part I can in turning the tide and setting Jersey on a path back to prosperity for all.

My priorities will be:

Address the Cost of Living

We must continue to address the housing crisis by supporting young people into homeownership, break down the barriers for growing families to upsize, and provide comfortable homes for people looking to downsize.

Prepare Jersey for the Challenges of the Future

Ensuring Jersey can enjoy a prosperous and resilient economy must be a top priority for the next government. We must promote inward investment, reduce unnecessary red tape and enhance education opportunities.

Restore Accountability to Government

Jersey’s public finances must be brought back into control and the rampant waste that occurs must be reined in. If we cannot do this, we will not have the funds to spend on the services Islanders deserve. Only a united government will be able to achieve this.

My Record

I have served as a States Member for 12 years, both as a Deputy and a Senator. I have served in various positions in Scrutiny and government. I believe I have shown myself to be an effective politician, a decisive Minister and capable leader of a team that is unified and constructive

As Minister for Housing, I am most proud of:

  • Securing the delivery of hundreds of new family-sized houses, and introducing the ‘First Step’ scheme for first time buyers
  • Passing a new law protecting the 45% of Islanders who rent their homes
  • Improving homelessness services

In the last term of office, I led a united team of Reform Jersey States Members who have risen above personality politics and helped restore stability to government after the dysfunctionality led to the fall of the previous government. We play a positive role in enhancing Jersey’s politics.

On 7th June, please vote for me and you local Reform Jersey candidates.
