Born and raised in Jersey, I was educated at St Mark’s Primary School and Hautlieu. I am married to Ann and have 3 children and 3 grandaughters. Prior to being elected I owned a fibreglass mouldings and roofing company and since 2022 have run a property maintenance business
In 2011, I was elected Connétable of St Brelade. During my tenure, I initiated the parish’s first shared equity housing scheme, introduced a fully tendered refuse and recycling service, and assisted with the refurbishment of St Aubin.
In 2018, I was elected Senator. My achievements include delivering Jersey’s new skatepark, saving Samares Ward from closure, introducing the Listening Lounge and supporting the development of a new mental health unit. I currently serve as President of St Brelade’s Sports and Social Club and as a Trustee of Les Amis, the learning disabilities charity.
Parish Priorities
I am committed to responsible financial management. Between 2011 and 2018, parish rates rose by only 6%, but since 2018 they have increased by 50% from 0.96 to 1.44p per quarter . I will work to ensure future increases are kept at or below the rate of inflation, protecting those most in need.
If elected, I will not serve as a Minister while acting as your Connétable. Instead, I will contribute through Scrutiny or as an Assistant Minister.
I am dedicated to improving transparency and consultation. The recent decision to refurbish the toilets at the Elephant Playpark at a cost of over £300k was rushed without any meaningful engagement with park users . I will ensure that residents’ voices are heard and respected in future over important parish issues.
To strengthen oversight of parish assets, I propose the creation of a Property Management Committee comprising the Connétable, a Procureur, and independent property experts to review and advise on the parish’s property portfolio.
I will bring forward proposals to use the £ 639k in the Affordable Home Scheme Surplus Fund to support families into their first homes
I will endeavour to build a stronger Community Support Team to assist our elderly and vulnerable parishioners
I will also work to ensure the Parish plays a central role in shaping Les Creux as a thriving community hub.
Island-Wide Priorities
Island-wide, I will support policies that ensure Jersey’s finance sector remains competitive and that the States Assembly responds swiftly to legislative challenges. I support a review of Jersey’s rates system.
I will seek to reintroduce an updated Inspiring an Active Jersey and advocate for a clear, funded strategy to upgrade the Island’s sports infrastructure.
With proven experience, strong community ties, and a practical approach to leadership, I am committed to serving St Brelade parishioners and islanders with integrity, transparency, and dedication.
