Community, Compassion & Common Sense

Islanders are facing real pressures – from the rising cost of living and high housing costs, both to rent and to buy, to concerns about the cost of government, overdevelopment and road safety.  If elected as Connétable, I will focus on practical; parish-level action that supports residents, while ensuring St Saviour has a strong and measured voice at Island level.

I was born in Jersey, and my career spans education, business, and health. I ran my own wellbeing business in St Helier for 14 years, alongside a career in education. I taught at Highlands College and at Uxbridge College I held a managerial role with responsibility for student outcomes, course completion and funding performance. I also contributed to national qualifications as an author of Level 3 textbooks and examination materials. In addition, I established a training school delivering courses across Europe, which I adapted to online learning during the pandemic.

After narrowly missing election in 2022, I chose to continue serving the parish. I am now a Community Volunteer, Editor of La Cloche, a Rates Assessor, and a member of the Twinning Committee. I also actively support our Honorary Police and the Battle of Flowers Association. These roles have given me a clear, practical understanding of parish life and how decisions affect residents day to day.

As one of Jersey’s largest and most diverse parishes, St Saviour can sometimes feel fragmented. I want to strengthen the sense of belonging – ensuring all parishioners feel informed, included and heard. This means better communication, more opportunities to come together, and a Parish Hall used more widely as a true community hub.

While the Parish cannot solve Island-wide challenges alone, it can act responsibly at a local level – keeping parish rates as low as possible while protecting essential services, ensuring value for money, and supporting community initiatives. I will advocate for balanced development that meets genuine need without placing undue strain on infrastructure or the character of the parish. Practical initiatives, such as parish allotments, can also support wellbeing and community connection.

I care deeply about protecting what makes St Saviour special. Development must be thoughtful and proportionate, enhancing rather than eroding the parish’s identity. I support proposals such as the planned parish park and improved facilities, ensuring they benefit the whole community.

I will also prioritise road safety, particularly around speeding and school traffic, and support education initiatives, including stronger vocational pathways, improved support for children with SEND, and greater awareness of online safety.

If elected, I will be visible, approachable and transparent – listening carefully and acting with fairness, balance and common sense for the whole parish.

I would be honoured to have your support
