It has been my privilege to serve St Helier South over the past four years.

It has been a struggle to create positive change within the States over this time; however, this has not dampened my resolve to try. I campaigned for the former Play.com warehouse site to be considered for the new school.  I fought for better oversight of mental health services like counselling and psychotherapy. Housing remains one of our most pressing challenges which is why I proposed a right-sizing policy (including a stamp duty holiday) to encourage better use of our existing housing stock. I also called for a review of residential space standards for one‑ and two‑bedroom flats, because quality of life should never be compromised by poor design.

My priorities for this term.

Government Accountability

I am running again because throughout this term, I have seen what’s holding Jersey back:

  • Delays caused by political disagreement,
  • Wasted public money through indecision,
  • Duplication across government and Arm’s Length Organisations,
  • The influence of vested interests.

It is time to turn the tide and deliver a decisive, accountable government so Jersey can thrive.

St Helier South Projects

Fort Regent is an iconic structure for our Island, sitting in the heart of St Helier.  This project must be delivered without delay, and I support its future as a modern leisure and entertainment complex.  We cannot leave the Fort empty for any longer than is necessary.

Recent storms have shown how vulnerable our island is to changing weather. The Shoreline Management Plan will not only protect Havre des Pas but provide improved public spaces and safe cycling route from Grève d’Azette to town.

These are not “nice to haves” but essential projects for St Helier.

Supporting our Pensioners

We must support our pensioners. By reforming tax and Social Security, we can reintroduce the pensioners’ income tax threshold, ensuring older islanders keep more of what they have earned, funded through a fairer contribution system.

Economy

Jersey’s agricultural heritage remains important, but we must also look forward. Emerging sectors such as biopharmaceuticals present a real opportunity to grow a high-value export industry. Building on the regulatory frameworks already in place for medicinal cannabis, we can support innovation and create new economic opportunities for the island.

Cost of living

The cost of living continues to put pressure on households, and shipping costs are a key factor. The DFDS flat-rate card was intended to encourage competition, but this has not yet been realised. We need to take action to bring real competition into Jersey’s logistics market and reduce costs for islanders.

If you want a Deputy who will challenge delay, push for delivery and stand up for St Helier South, please vote for me.
