With tomorrow marking four months until Jersey’s next General Election, Vote.je – Jersey’s Official Voting Guide – has launched a third video to help potential election candidates with their preparations. The video is designed to help people use social media confidently and effectively, and is accompanied by two detailed guides.
Our candidate resources page is a growing collection of information and support for Islanders considering standing in this year’s election. The latest video covers everything from auditing your online presence to building your political following and offers practical steps for both existing users of social media and those exploring digital channels for the first time.
To mark the monthly countdown to the General Election on 22 June 2022, Fort Regent will be lit up red on Tuesday 22 February, and on the 22 of each month until election week, when it will be red for the whole week.
Jenny O’Brien, Head of Digital and Public Engagement, said: “We are excited to provide brand new online resources that are designed to give election candidates the confidence to use social media to engage with Islanders during the election campaign period and beyond.
“We’re very grateful to our colleagues at Fort Regent for illuminating the iconic building to remind Islanders about the upcoming election and the steps they need to take now to ensure they have a voice in deciding the future of Jersey. Now is the time to register to vote and to find out about recent changes to the electoral system that will affect you this year. Everything you need to know is on Vote.je”.
