There is dedicated parking on site; there are two vehicle entrances at the front of the building, parking in front and on the side of the building.
There are two disabled parking spaces marked within the car park.
There is no drop off zone marked.
There is also overflow parking at the Moignard Liberation Garden and St. Lawrence primary school.
The main entrance will be used which has 3 granite steps with handrails; those requiring a ramp will use the ‘exit’ at the back (contra to the flow of exiting voters, which will need marshalling).
The main entrance at the front is a double door that would need to be held open on the day; there is a fixed mat inside.
The ramped entrance for those with mobility issues at the back would need to have the door fixed open on polling day; the ramp gradient is in excess of British standards and the surface between the ramp and entry is not flush, there is a protruding metal lip, the inlaid mat inside is flattened meaning the tiled floor edges protrude and are also a trip hazard.
There is no signage to the hall from this ‘entrance’ and the short corridor leading in is not wide enough for two people to pass even though people will be exiting and entering this way.
The exit for all voters at the rear has the permanent concrete ramp with handrails on both sides at two heights. Marshalls will assist with movement.
Inside the main entrance, there is another set of double doors to the foyer which are flush with the floor; these would need to be held open.
The tiled flooring is heavily patterned which could be tricky for those with visual impairments.
The hall is on the ground floor, but the wooden floor surface of the hall is not flush with the tiled flooring of the corridor it is a potential trip hazard and difficult for a wheelchair user to use.
The hall itself is spacious with plenty of room to move and good lighting.
Stepped access:
Step-free access:
Not applicable – the polling station is accessed on the ground floor.
There is a hearing loop system available.
Assistance dogs are permitted inside the polling station.
If you need to use a screen reader or other assistive technology you’ve brought with you, please speak to a Parish Official (Autorisé or Adjoint).
You can bring someone with you to the polling station, but if you need help filling in your ballot paper, a Parish Official (Autorisé or Adjoint) will help you.
There is one accessible toilet on the ground floor next to the ramped entrance.
Turning into the toilet from the narrow corridor is not easy due to the design of the door.
Much of the equipment is not at the right height, clearly visible or in reach; there is no alarm.
