On polling day there will be designated disabled parking available at the front of the Parish Hall.
There is a dedicated parking area at the back of the hall (25 spaces) on an incline.
There are no designated disabled spaces at the back, as this area is unsuitable for disabled parking due to it being a good distance from the premises and is sloped en route.
There are some marked spaces on the way to the rear car park, at the side – they are a distance from the main entrances/exits with some slopes.
The area in front of the parish hall will serve as a dropping off point too – the area is relatively flat.
There is a bike park area too.
There is an overspill car park across the road. It is a grassed field past the shoppers’ car park and across a lane so a fair distance away.
The entrance has a slope and can be muddy and wet. It would be supervised on polling day and people may well use the shoppers’ car park in addition.
The entrance to the hall has 3 steps with railings for only 2 of the steps, people unable to manage steps will use the accessible exit with ramp for both entry and exit.
Those entering contra to the flow of exiting voters will be escorted/supported to ease their route and given priority.
The accessible entrance is a smooth tarmacked route from the front of the building and has a ramp to a double glazed door.
A metal grating strip before the entrance could cause slipping and there is a slight incline and lip to get through the door.
Most voters are using a one-way system and exiting via the accessible door to the right of the entrance.
This has a ramp and steps with a one height handrail.
Exiting voters will need to be aware of those with accessibility needs entering via the same door.
The hall is on the ground floor with level access.
There is a chicane arrangement (with posts and movable pull web barrier) directly opposite the main entrance to the A-Z registration tables and then a logical one-way flow in the open space to the voting booths, then ballot box and then exit.
The space in the hall is large and circulation for those with limited mobility should be good.
The hall is looped for hearing aid users and the lighting is good.
