The Parish Hall shares a large car park with the Youth and Community Centre.
There are 3 dedicated disabled parking spaces outside the Community Centre plus an additional space just outside the Honorary Police doors.
On Polling day, the Church have given permission for the area next to the parish hall doors to be used for disabled parking only.
There is no dropping off point marked within the parking area or approach to the parish hall, although dropping off in front of the main hall entrance would be possible.
The main entrance will be used for the exit and entry of voters.
There is a slight sloping sill in front of the main entrance, which could be a trip hazard or tricky for a manual wheelchair user. However, on polling day there will be a temporary rubber wedge placed to enable ease of access for wheelchair users.
The double doors will be held open on polling day. The loose mat on the tiled floor as you enter could be a slip hazard.
There will be Adjoints present on the day to assist people.
The hall is on the first floor accessed via a set of stairs that permits users to go up and down in two separate streams, or via the lift.
The stairs present challenges for several disability/mobility issues with unsuitable handrails and flooring.
The lift is located in the main entrance lobby away from the stairs but not easily identifiable from the entrance. There is directional signage and Adjoints will be available to show and assist people.
The hall doors will be held open and the room is spacious allowing for easy movement.
Good light and a hearing loop is available.
