2014 Referendum Result

Should the Constables remain as members of the States as an automatic right?

YES: When a Connétable is elected by their Parish, they will automatically become a States member.

NO: When a Connétable is elected by their Parish, they will be appointed as the Parish Connétable, but will not automatically become a States member. If they want to become a States member as well as a Parish Connétable, they will have to stand for election to the States. The States can now consider what changes could be made to the composition and election of the States Assembly to take account of this view.
